G2-FL250R Frame Construction
Getting started with the A-arm installation. I am using stock 400ex A-arms, hubs, spindles and brakes for this. I got the parts from eBay for around $300 bucks.
Left side a-arms mounted. We used the same suspension geometry of the 400ex for the a-arm mount locations. This took some time to get right.
Here is Moskito working on the right side arms. The front suspension is really taking shape.
Here both arms are mounted, and they look good. Articulation is good too. I will have to use some sort of bump steer setup for steering, but with the arms I used there should have close to 9 inches of travel in the front. With the wheels installed, the width of the buggy is just a hair over 60" which is real close to what I was shooting for.
I'll post more about the progress of this buggy when I actually make some. I haven't done anything with it since this past winter, and I'm not sure when I'll get a chance to do more. I'll update with my progress though.
