Rebuilding a Honda Pilot engine "Top to Bottom"
A friend of mine called and asked if I could help him with the rebuild of his pilot motor since I had done it before. I said sure thing, bring it on! The following pages are my attempt at showing a complete rebuild "top to bottom" of a pilot motor from start to finish. First things first. I AM NOT A PROFESSIONAL! Take the information found in these pages as nothing more than my experiences. If you choose to use these pages as a guide it is your choice, and I WILL NOT be liable for any damage you do. With that out of the way....let the rebuild begin!

The first and most important thing you need to do before starting on a project of this scope is to read the manual thoroughly, and understand EXACTLY what you are getting into. The pilot motor rebuild requires special tools, and patience in order to do the job right! |

The first step in rebuilding a pilot motor is to get the engine out of the machine. The manual covers this pretty well so I won't go over it. I will tell you that before you start to take the pilot apart it is important to get as much dirt and muck off as possible. This will make the job less messy and make it easier to see what you need to see. You will also need a clean space to work on your motor. The stall in the back of the barn with dirt floors isn't the place to do this. In order to protect the new parts you will be installing you will need to pay particular attention to your shop and minimize the potential for contamination of your parts.

The rebuild is broken into 5 sections. Refer to each section as needed for details on that part of the procedure | ||||
